Seismological Bureau of Langfang City Visiting IDP to Consult on Earthquake Monitoring and Prediction

On the morning of October 24, 2018, Zhang Liuqi, deputy director of Seismological Bureau of Langfang City, and his party came to the School of Earth Science to carry out consultation on earthquake monitoring and prediction. Jiang Jiyi and Li Yingzhen, dean of the School of Earth Science, attended the conference on earthquake monitoring and prediction.

At the meeting, Jiang Jiyi briefly introduced the basic situation, disciplines and cooperation between IDP and the local government. Li Yingzhen introduced in detail the joint project between the School of Earth Science and Langfang Municipal Institute of Earthquake Prevention and Mitigation, including the construction of telemetry seismic network in the three northern counties of Langfang, the project of active fault detection and seismic risk assessment in Sanhe City, and the earthquake prediction cooperation in Langfang area relying on the earthquake prediction laboratory.

Seismological Bureau of Langfang City and Sanhe housing and Urban Rural Development Bureau fully affirmed the close cooperation in earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, and highly valued the importance and achievements of IDP in serving the social and economic development and urban construction of Langfang City, such as earthquake monitoring and prediction, urban active fault detection, etc. The two sides have initially formed the cooperation and co-construction intention of comprehensive observation means of local seismic stations.
